This is just a quick note to let you guys know what is going on with Azure and Frugal Family. After much prayer, consideration, and talking with my hubby. I decided that until I find a better alternative I would open the facebook groups back up.
The Azure Standard order is due Jan 29th 2013 with pickup the following Tuesday. We had lots of people splitting items this month. I hope that this continues in an effort to save us all our hard earned cash.
There are some great buys going on right now on the frugal family group. Currently the open buys are essential oils and accessories, Ball Jars, Middlefield Cheese, and Amber jewelery. Some of the future buys include fermented cod liver oil, mama cloth, herbs, spices, soft sole shoes and many other things. IF you have something you’d like for us to save money on then please send me info and I’ll see what I can do.
I hope to do a few posts in the near future as well as a “workshop/class” on how I meal plan and feed my family of 7 for less than most people feed their family of 4. stay tuned and spread the word about these money saving groups!
I am sure many of you have heard the song by Scotty McCreery Dirty Dishes. If you haven’t it’s worth taking the time to listen to. I feel that it fits my life quite well right now.
“I wanna thank You Lord,
For noisy children and slamming doors,
And clothes scattered all over the floor,
My husband workin’ all the time,
Draggin’ in dead tired at night,
My never ending messy kitchen
And dirty dishes.”
Since we are almost done building I have been finding myself in a “slump” knowing that soon I’ll have much more room, a place to put this, a shelf to stack that. And I have realized just how ungrateful that I have become to what I do have. God has always provided us with more than we need. He’s given me a warm house to live in, plenty of food to eat, more than enough clothes to wear.
As the new year has come I have tried to redirect my focus on being thankful….Thankful for EVERYTHING and trying not to fuss over the little things.
“Noisy kids are happy kids,
And slamming doors just means we live,
In a warm and loving home,
Your long hours and those dishes in the sink,
Means a job and enough to eat.”
To take the time and realize that it is, people, not houses or things that are what are really important. That one day my children will be all grown up and that I’ll have all these material things left behind and my home will be empty:
“For my little busy bees
Beggin’ mama, mama can we please?
Always wantin’ me to call their name
Loads of laundry pilin’ up
Crayons crushed into the rug
And those little sticky kisses
And dirty dishes,
And dirty dishes…”
I have decided this year that I am going to make sure that my family is a multigenerational Christians. That I will be the BEST example of Christian wife and mother to my girls and for my boys to know what to look for when it comes that time.
We will have a “teenager” this year. And unlike most I am looking forward to it. I don’t believe in all the bad wrap that comes with being a “teenager” I believe children will be and act what and how you expect them to, and if you “label” them as rebellious and just “assume” it’s a phase they will go right along with you. We have many examples in the bible of “teenagers” who were leaders and go getters for God. Daniel, David, Joseph are some good examples other than Jesus. We can teach and expect our children to be able to teach at age 12 like Jesus or we can expect them to be like the world.
So I thank the Lord for noisy Children, slamming doors, dirty dishes, piles of laundry on the floor, a husband working hard all the time, never ending messing kitchen. And I hope that all these things continue for many years to come and that having more room will mean that I can have friends and family over to help make more noise, more dirty dishes, and more LOVE than I have known in the past.
Thought you guys might like seeing my sweet girl as I was washing dishes (our dishwasher is broken) and she wanted to be right where we were. And I decided what better place for her to be than right there with me and my “dirty dishes” 😀
Can’t believe this sweet little girl will be 1 on January 1st. She has brought so many blessings that I am forever grateful for. For people who think you can’t love more than 1 or 2 children you are sadly mistaken. I love number 5 just as much as I love numbers 1-4.
The joy of seeing the love that her brothers and sisters show her daily makes me have tears of joy. And if the Lord sees fit to bless me with more children I will love them just as much. People often ask me “how I do it” well today I am going to share just a tad of “how” you’ll have to come back to find out more 😉
This is “how” I do it. I serve an awesome God who is faithful to me even when I’m not faithful to Him. He has given me a wonderful, kind, and Godly husband to help me thru this life here on earth. His goal is to get me to Heaven and mine is to get him there. Together our goal is to get our children there. I have decided to obey God rather than men. Which means that at times what God has to say on a subject doesn’t always agree with what I want, what I’ve been taught, or what “everyone” else is doing.
I pray that each and everyone can experience the blessings that I have. For my cup runneth over. And I will always obey God rather than men. Will you?
Tonight I made a yarrow tincture. It takes 6 weeks to “Make” In the mean time I am still using the yarrow for tea. Yarrow is a good herb to have on hand for children. It is helpful in relieving … Continue reading
This is just a little bit of joy I have experienced this holiday season. I pray yours was just as joyful!
